You probably have heard the saying “I need to clear my head” or “I need to clear my mind”. Maybe you said it yourself too.

When this idea of clearing the head or mind comes in to play; it is those moments we feel as if stuck in mud, unable to move in the direction I want to move. It seems as if you are making rounds and rounds on the same topic yet unable to proceed further. In those situation the urge to clear the head, mind surfaces.

Meditation is the process of letting go, merging into the void and becoming an empty vessel like Dao described in Chapter 4 of Dao De Jing.

Dao is like an empty bowl,
Which in being used can never be filled up.
